  • Jewelry Care

    -Oxidized pieces

I oxidize a lot (most) of the silver I use in my pieces. I use a solution called Live of Sulphur to oxidize the silver and then seal it with a natural beeswax spray, then buff it. However, both the beeswax seal and the oxidation itself is a temporary surface treatment. I am happy to re-oxidize a piece for you any time free of charge. Most pieces will last years staying dark with normal wear. The exception is rings which, as we wash our hands so often, comes off much faster. If you want to preserve the dark finish a bit longer on rings take them off for hand-washing. It is best to remove oxidized pieces for swimming and showering.

    -Bright sterling pieces.

Sterling silver will tarnish/oxidize gradually over time. It can be polished with jewelry polishing rag or groups of pieces (which do not contain stones) can be cleaned using this natural method. To avoid oxidation in the first place it helps to keep your piece in a sealed environment when not wearing and put it on after you have sprayed any perfume, applied lotion, etc. It is best to remove for swimming and showering.
